Wood Waste Recycling
As an environmentally friendly alternative to landfill, Atlantic Waste Management can help by offering a solution for the disposal of your wood waste. Atlantic Waste Management operate a Wood Recycling Facility which accepts mixed wood waste from the construction and demolition sector, from local authorities and from commercial sources as waste packaging materials. Waste wood can be delivered direct to our recycling facility or we can arrange to provide a skip or container to your site and collect it with our own specialised vehicles.
We can recycle all types of non-hazardous woods including:
- Pallets
- Off-cuts, boxes, packing cases
- Floorboards
- Chipboard
- Plywood
- Melamine and laminates
- MDF
- Hardboard
- Please note that hazardous timbers cannot be accepted (eg: railway sleepers and utility poles).
The wood is processed through 2 shredders, first a slow speed and then a high speed, both of which have magnetic separation to extract all the ferrous metals which are collected and sent off for recycling. The wood chip is then graded to produce a number of different products including animal bedding, wood chip for equestrian surfaces, wood chip for panel board manufacture and wood chip for fuel for ‘green’ power generation.
